8th March is on of the most special and honored days in Russia! Russians celebrate the grace and achievements of women, like no other nation in the world.

Along with all the Russian community,  Mr. Putin never leave any stone, unturned to praise the glory and existence of women, saying that,

“Your spiritual strength and your accomplishment taught us to be real men.

Russia has the largest % of women in world, working on executive positions, and corporate positions. (45% of their working people) 

So, 8th March is the day, when Russians people honor the capabilities of their women as well recognized international women’s day. And show their pride of gender equality  to world with a national holiday and prades.

This day is globally emerged as women’s day to honor the efforts of women in every field of life. This day is for all women whether they are grandmothers, mother, daughter, sisters and wives. 7th - 8th March - Public holidays in Russia

7th March is also national official holiday in Russia on the occasion of international women's day. The international women's day holiday is comprised of two days celebrations from 7-8 March in Russia.  This is like a pre-holiday to the international women day.

The celebrations of the women's day starts from 7th March. In the organizations, colleagues gives flowers and gifts to coworker females. The day is all for women whether they are belongs to any field of life, they are going to enjoy protocol on this day.

History

Women's day in Russia is first time celebrated in the year of 1913 in Saint Petersburg. The women’s day is marked on 8th March when women of Russia demanded for their right for the vote through public parade.

This day was recognized as a national holiday in Russia in 1918. The 8th March in Russia is considered like the mother's day in the whole world.

Celebrations and Gifts

Russian President Vladimir Putin has greeted women in the televised address on the time of international women’s day n state TV channel Rossiya24. The Russian president doled out particular praise for the women who had lived through World War II.

“Your spiritual strength and your accomplishment taught us to be real men. To win in spite of anyone. Modern women should match you.They are capable of anything: striving high professionally, artistically, in public activism and in creating a happy and comfortable environment in the family to raise children."

Family tribute to women

People in Russia celebrate this day with family and friends over the meal. This event is celebrated like a festival in the family. Women’s receive gifts like flowers, cards and other things as a gesture to pay gratitude to them.

Not only the families but the nation as a whole pay tribute to women by organizing television shows highlighting achievements of Russian women.

Another way to celebrate this day is to overtake the household duties by men. Some of the Russians men accept the household duties and perform activities like washing dishes, cooking food and looking after children.

In working environment women get gifts from their employers and coworkers. There is also a small party at lunch time to celebrate the occasion.

Women's day in Russia,  is a day of national honor, gratitude, respect, care greetings and flowers!
