The first Pakistan Russia Investment forum has established a strong relationship between the two countries at its initial stage. More than 200 potential investors attended the forum, where Pakistani Finance Minister ensured Russian investors of complete government support. (Dailytimes, Pakistan - Nov 19 2015).
Islamabad - On Thursday 19th November 2015, the first event of ‘Pakistan Russia Investment Forum’ was organized, where the minister for finance senator Ishaq Dar asked the federal minister drug control services of the Russian federation, Viktor Ivanov, to consider the trade opportunities in Pakistan.
The event was mainly organized by the Board of Investment (BoI) and the Russian Business Council for Cooperation with Pakistan (BCCP) to improve the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Russia. Chairman Board of Investment, Mifthah Ismail reported that around 130 potential investors and traders from Pakistan and 80 Russian investors participated the forum.

Pakistan Russia Gas Pipeline
Viktor Ivanov presented the update on supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Pakistan and emphasized that the establishment of air links and creation of banking channels between the two countries would multiply the bilateral trade.
The finance minister, Dar also added that last year he visited Moscow with an aim to enhance the investment relations and it remained productive with the recent visit of Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif in Russia. It has severely opened the new ways for collaboration between the two countries.
Nawaz invites Putin to Pakistan
Dar referred that Prime minister Nawaz Sharif, has also invited Russian President Vladimir Putin, for inauguration of North South Gas Pipeline. He further added that the supply presenting in North-South Gas Pipeline would further improve business-to-business linkages in two countries.
He said the inter-governmental commission IGC would consider for additional promotions of bilateral trade and find ways and means to exploit the trade potential and expect the Pakistan-Russia (IGC) matters to be resolved in today’s (Friday) meeting.Russian corporation for Pakistan Steel Mills!
While addressing the forum, Ishaq Dar informed that Pakistan is also looking for strategic corporation for Pakistan Steel Mills and offered the Russian investors to take benefit from the opportunity.
Speaking in the forum, the Russian minister for industry stressed the need for enhancing potential trade and organizing trade exhibition as well.
With this opening avenues of hundreds of investments opportunities in Pakistan, Finance minister Dar, has ensured Russian investors, that Pakistan government is now concentrating on growth trail and job opportunities, for long-term supportable economic development for both the countries in coming years!
